David Grimshaw

David Grimshaw is a lecturer in design at Manchester Metropolitan University. Using chairs in the current exhibition as examples, David will discuss the influence of a variety of factors on their design. He will make links to issues such as material and process innovation, economics and globalisation, status and authority, as well as touching on the influence of art movements and societal changes.
